IND Patient, Chronic Pain
Florida

Irvin Rosenfeld is the longest surviving of the final two Federal medical cannabis patients in the United States. The Federal Government has been supplying him 10 medical cannabis cigarettes per day for over 34 years for his severe bone tumor disorder. He has owned My Medicine Consulting since 2010.

In the capacity of a Federal patient, Irv has spoken in the following state capitols:
Virginia, Maryland, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Montana, Florida, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. He has spoken to politicians in New York, Colorado, Arizona, California, Oregon, Ohio, Washington state, Washington DC, and Missouri. He also recently spoke in San Juan for Puerto Rico’s new law. Irv is well received when he speaks to state entities as well as city and county. They appreciate and respect his knowledge and experience.

He has been covered by numerous television and print media in all those areas. Some of the shows he’s been on are: NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, CBS Evening News with John Roberts, CNN News with Aaron Brown, CNN Talk Back Live (5), The Montel Williams Show, Penn & Teller’s “Bullshit Show,” numerous documentaries such as Showtime’s “In Pot We Trust,” “Waiting to Inhale,” the PBS Emmy-winning “Smoking Medicine: The Marijuana Issue,” and PBS’s “Clearing the Smoke.”

Irv has been covered by hundreds of newspapers, including the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Miami Herald, and the Sun-Sentinel.

He has spoken publicy at many venues, from five people to thousands.

Irv has been a financial consultant for the last 29 years in South Florida.

The the last six years, he has owned My Medicine Consulting, a consulting firm specializing in cannabis business, and educating the public at all levels from citizens to elected officials.

For the last 22 years, Irv has been a volunteer teaching mentally, physically, and economically challenged children and adults to sail adapted sailboats at “Shake-A-Leg” in Miami.

Irv is a board member of Patients Out of Time, a 501c3 organization. It is the first organization that is sanctioned by the American Medical Association and the American Nurses Association to teach doctors and nurses about medical cannabis where they receive continuing education credits.

He is a co-founder of The Silver Tour, a 501c3 organization that teaches senior citizens about the benefits of medical cannabis.

Irv has written his life story and that of the history of the medical cannabis movement in this country in his book “My Medicine: How I Convinced the US Government to Provide My Marijuana and Helped Launch a National Movement,” which was published in 2010 and is available at www.mymedicinethebook.com and Kindle.

He has been able to do all this because he has the right medicine for his severe bone tumor disorder. Irv feels we need to give every patient the same privilege, while educating our cities, counties, and the state about the specific needs to grow this new, blossoming industry, guide them on how to set up and implement canna businesses in their communities, and ensure safety and prosperity for all involved.

(Federal IND Patients are recipients of legal medical cannabis, provided by the U.S. government through the FDA’s Investigational New Drug Program.)
