William Panzer, or Bill Panzer as his friends call him, practices law in California. William specializes mainly in criminal defense, particularly cannabis defense, and has been practicing law for over twenty five years in Oakland, California. Having grown up on the East Coast, William Panzer became immersed in politics at the young age of 13 or 14 when he took part in the anti-Vietnam war movement and marches in Washington, DC. From then on, William began dedicating his time and energy towards reforming America’s laws- especially those that pertain to the legalization of marijuana.
As a firm proponent of the legalization of marijuana, William Panzer coauthored and promoted Proposition 215, which led to the ability of ill patients to secure marijuana from their doctors for medical purposes. As a practicing drug defense attorney for mainly cannabis, William has represented and won cases for doctors, medical marijuana dispensaries, and marijuana cultivators. He has been a dedicated member of NORML’s legal committee for over twenty years and is on the board of director’s for both National NORML and California NORML. In 2001, NORML presented William the prestigious Al Horn award, which only attorneys on NORML’s legal committee qualify for each year for their dedication to NORML’s mission. Besides winning the Al Horn award, William also earned Sonoma Alliance for Medical Marijuana’s “Compassion In Action” Award twice and was named High Times Magazine “Freedom Fighter of the Month.” He lectures and speaks at cannabis events and conferences in an effort to educate Americans about cannabis law and their individual rights to legally use marijuana.Share This
