You have several options for getting to and from the conference.Airport
For those flying in, Newark Liberty International (EWR) is the closest airport. (LaGuardia (LGA), John F. Kennedy (JFK), and Philadelphia International (PHI) are within 2 hours of Jersey City, but beware of rush traffic times). The Ramada provides a free shuttle to and from the Newark airport. Uber/Lyft should cost around $18-25, taxis likely a bit more though possibly more. For public transit from the Newark airport, take the Airtrain to Newark Penn Station and switch to the PATH train. Timetables, maps, and rates can be found at https://www.panynj.gov/airports/ewr-ground-transportation.html.
Port Authority Transit (PATH) underground trains operate within and between New Jersey and Manhattan. The conference venue is directly across the street from the Journal Square Station. From there, it is short ride to Newark Penn Station (for Amtrak and Airport connection), to Exchange Place PATH Station (waterfront hotels and ferry), or to Manhattan (including stops in Greenwich Village, Chelsea, and New York Penn Station as well as connecting to the NYC Subway system). You will need to buy a refillable MetroCard from the automated machines in the station to use the PATH (the same card is good for the NYC Subway). Each ride is $2.75. Maps and schedules can be found at https://www.panynj.gov/path.
Uber and Lyft are both very popular in Jersey City, so the wait for a ride is never long. If you’re not in a hurry, UberPool and LyftLine let you share the cost of the ride with others along your route, or the Split tools lets you share the fare among those traveling with you. In Manhattan, Yellow Cabs are a numerous, easy option and not usually much of a price difference from a RideShare.
Numerous ferry routes run between the waterfront hotels and Manhattan.
