The conference is being held at the historical Loews Movie Palace. Built in 1929 as one of the Landmark Wonder Theaters, it operated as a movie theater until the 1970s when it was abandoned and in danger of demolition. The Friends of Loews volunteers have lovingly restored the space and now operate it as a not-for-profit arts center, with the stated goal of renewing:
the unique combination of artistic ability with a sense of showmanship informed by democratic insight which, in the 20th century, melded the performing arts traditions of all the peoples who came to this country into a single force that has not only entertained us, but expressed our collective hopes and fears so dynamically.
The theater boasts a sumptuous multi-story lobby, complete with gilt balconies and chandeliers, where our exhibitors, information tables, and coffee breaks will be located. Attendees will gather in the generous space to network and socialize. Theater-tiered seating allows all attendees to have a great view of the stage and presenters. The building is ADA accessible.Share This
